Hi there, everyone! I know you are all holding your breath, wondering if after my lapse in counting points last night if I went off the deep end today. To MY surprise, I didn't! :) You all can let your breath out now, too. Those of you who followed my blog back when it was Staci's Slimdown know just what I'm talking about here. Haha
I will go ahead and say I actually ended my day at exactly 33 points+, which is my target. I had a battle with a Cadbury Egg tonight, but I actually won! ME, winning a fight with a chocolate candy. Things are getting strange around here, people!
Breakfast was an oatmeal pack, 2 turkey sausage links, and an orange.
Lunch was a high-fiber tortilla with 34 grams of chunky peanut butter in it. I also had 14 grams of pretzels, a banana, a Greek yogurt, and carrot chips dipped in salsa.
Then the kids and I enjoyed a WW ice cream bar.
We didn't have church tonight. Our church is just a year old, and there are only 11 of us that come on Wednesday nights. One man is at home with a stomach bug, one lady wasn't going to be able to be there tonight, and then I had a sore throat. That only left the one lady that my husband picks up to come, and my husband doesn't ever pick up just a female in the church van. In this day and age, anyone could say anything and make accusations. So he called the one lady and explained things to her.
I have been having a sore throat only on the left side for 3 weeks, and it's really bad mostly just when swallowing food. Liquids hurt it a little, but food really hurts it. I haven't had a fever, runny nose, ear pain... nothing else. After 3 weeks, though, this is getting old! So I started googling. All I could come up with was oropharyngeal cancer or thyroid cancer. YIKES! I actually have a brother who had thyroid cancer. My mom, aunt, and a niece all have had thyroid nodules, Grave's disease, etc. So I took this pretty seriously and it worried me all day today. I wasn't freaking out worried. It was just lingering in my mind all day.
I took 800 mg of ibuprofen this morning hoping to get rid of the pain. It helped, and I thought the pain was gone. And then I ate lunch and it was just as horrible. Ugh. I don't have health insurance, so I went to a local walk-in clinic that was referred to me. I was shockingly in and out in about 30 minutes total!
The lady was very nice and a great listener. First she looked in my throat and made some sort of "ah-ha" noise. Then she checked my ears and seemed really surprised by the amount of fluid in them. She said my nasal passages were swollen, the left side of my throat was red, and I had yellow postnasal drainage that she could see.
So she wrote me 2 prescriptions and I was on my way. She said she didn't feel any nodules on my thyroid and thought this would fix me up, but if I don't get better then I should consult a physician that could do a thyroid ultrasound.
I feel much better mentally! Now on to feeling better in my throat!
I had the battle with the Cadbury Egg at the pharmacy. Glad I won. I told myself I had already had an ice cream bar today and I could have a Cadbury Egg this weekend if I still really wanted one. Sometimes I have to remind myself that food will not disappear just because I don't eat it right that moment.
When I got home from getting my prescriptions, I had chili. I went ahead and put zucchini in it again this time. Yum! I also had 28 grams RF Colby Jack cheese, a dollop of 0% Greek yogurt, and 6 RF saltine crackers.
A few hours later, I had a cup of FF hot chocolate and a Grahamful.
In a nutshell: I can't complain about today, ending on target. I'm about to get in bed and hope for an un-sore throat and sunshine outside tomorrow! Our severe weather ended up being clear roads but ice on all the trees, power lines, and vehicles. So strange! But I'm glad we didn't lose power and the storm didn't amount to anything. However, I was all set to sleep in this morning, thinking hubby would get to stay home today so why bother schooling. Wahhhhh. I got up at 7:00 as usual. Really a bummer, but at least I got things accomplished today. :)
