Didn't Do the Math

Evening!  It is only 8:00 pm, but since everyone is expecting an ice storm and power outages (some outages already being reported nearby), I figured I'd blog early tonight.  If by chance I am not here for a day or two, figure it is loss of power.  I'm hoping this is all just over-exaggerated and will be fine, though.  We are getting little icicles on our porch right now.

Turned out that the husband was running late for work this morning, and after a "deliberation" I guilted talked him into taking the kitties for their spay and neuter for me.  Lol  I am so thankful, though.  The van was a big sheet of ice this morning.

For breakfast, I had a Lean Pocket breakfast sandwich and a Cutie.

Then I ended up having to leave the house at 10:00 am anyway to take my son for a urinalysis.  For 11 solid days, he has peed every 10 to 15 minutes, small amounts, having accidents at night, and basically driving us nuts!  He hasn't had a fever or anything, so I was confused and waited this long.  Finally, I decided I wasn't going to get peace of mind unless I took him to the doctor.

So I loaded all 4 kids up (at least not at 8 am) and headed 30 minutes away to the pediatrician.  As I was leaving, I got a text that said "Warning:  Avoid travel.  Stay indoors.  Ice storm."  Okkkk... was this Verizon or God Himself????  Lol  I still headed out.  Even though the van had been started several minutes, I had to pull over down the road and take a CD and knock like 3" of thick ice off my wipers.  I also had to use my handy big hips to make the sliding door shut.  It hadn't been closed good the night before apparently and had froze OPEN.  ???  Only us!  So I was late for the doc appointment, but oh well.  They were nice about it and I called to let them know I was running behind.

Why am I telling you all this?  Beats me!  Just play along.  LOL

So turns out the Singulair that my son was put on for his asthma coughing turns up all over the web at causing frequent urination and wetting the bed at night.  Wow.  His symptoms started the day after starting the medication!  So we will be stopping that now and seeing if that fixes the problem.

As I was at the doctor, hubby called to say the kitties made it through surgery just fine and could be picked up early due to the impending storm of the century that isn't even here yet.  Haha

Lunches were packed in the fridge, but at this point it was 12:30 and we weren't home yet.  Had to make a stop for gas, so we went across the street and had lunch at McD's.  I played it smart and got the Southwest salad with southwest dressing.  This salad was way better than the one I had at that other McD's.

Got to pick up the kitties.  They were very weirded out.  The girl was running from one end of her carrier to the other, freaking out.  The boy was dragging his back legs (lol, poor guy) and walking all crooked.  At first I was worried and called the vet.  They explained that I picked them up 3 hours earlier than usual because of the weather and they were just loopy.  Must've been right because they were both falling over when they tried to walk.  Poor things!  But they are walking normally now, just resting a lot.

Then we came back home and got busy with schooling that we missed out on during the day hours.  I had dishes to do, my bed to make, laundry waiting, and a turkey that needed innards pulled out of it.  Ewwww.  So I got to work on things.  I had a snack during all the chaos, though - a granola thin and a banana.

The husband was gonna get home really late because of work and errands.  Just not a normal day and night today!  So when supper finally hit the table at 7:30 pm, I was hungry and tired and didn't do the math - on purpose.  Plus, I made a dinner tonight that I *never* make and you probably won't see again!  Lol  But I had this turkey that I had gotten on sale at Christmastime and needed to cook it.  I also made a low-fat version of broccoli casserole, a barely-any-sugar sweet potato casserole that I improvised on, and Stove Top cornbread stuffing.  Then there was a roll with butter and cranberry sauce.
??  Who knows!

That is not a good attitude to have and I realize that.  I am still very focused and not giving up or slacking, though.  I just had that one meal that I know took me over my points for the week.  Not saying that is ok.... but this is my life and sometimes that will happen, I'm sure.

In a nutshell:  Tomorrow restarts my points, so yay for that.  I dunno... that's just always a happy feeling whether I've done good or bad.  I'm anxious to see if this weather does anything at all.  I'd love for hubby to be snowed in tomorrow and us just have a lazy day, but at the same time I know that will mess with my eating and our meals and snackiness levels.  Lol  Okay, I'm off.  Have a great night and hopefully I will be able to be back tomorrow night!  :)

  2. Brrrr. I hope you don't lose power as it is never a fun thing in the cold of winter. If you do get snowed in, stay strong and make healthy choices.

  4. New phones have a govnt. feature that sends texts for bad weather and amber alerts. When we had our blizzard, they sent me a text at 4 am warning me of a blizzard beginning at 7 pm that night. Lol. And they come through loud and blaring even with your phone silenced!

  7. The weather reports for us were over blown. We had some rain and a little ice but the roads never got bad. I did have to jerk my car door open yesterday, but the ice was thin enough, or I was strong enough to break it with my hands.
