Pure Perfection

Yes, great day today.  Whereas my failure post from Sunday night has like a million hits, this one will probably get 20.  ROFL  I'm tellin' ya, no matter what day of the week, time of day, etc., my "fail" posts get wayyyy more traffic than "success" posts.  I find it hilarious!  Everyone loves a loser, right?  Haha

Breakfast was a new flavor (to me) of oatmeal - raisins, dates, and walnuts - or something similar.  Lol  Anyway, an extra points+ but yummy!  I also had 2 slices of turkey bacon and a banana.

I don't care what people say.  Oatmeal does NOT keep you full! Sheesh!  Lol  I do find that steel cut oats keep me full, but who has the time to make those?!  And I love them!  I made them in the microwave 2 times.  You need a bowl bigger than your microwave to keep them from boiling over.  It's nuts.  And they don't turn out like on the stovetop.  Bummer!

Where was I?  Oh yes, I was starving by 11:00 am!  I grabbed a Fiber One protein bar.

Today's packed lunch was 3 oz of Tyson grilled and ready meats with a string cheese as a kabob.  I also had 28 grams of Wheat Thins crackers, cucumber chunks, and 2 oranges.
8 points+.

I really thought I was gonna have to have a snack before supper.  I took the kids to the dentist at 2:30 (still never a cavity, yay), and then I took the kids to Walmart.  Oh. My. Word.  Always good to remind yourself why you no longer take 4 kids with you to shop.  Can we say "stupidity?"  LOL  The kids were pointing out every marvelous treat in the store.  "Look, Mom - cookies!  Oh, cakes!  Can we have a candy bar?  Mmmmm.... chocolate chip morsels.  I sure wish they gave away cookies here."  Ahhhhhhhh, stop it you heathen!  Stop it right now!  Momma is fat and addicted to sugar.  STOP.

Ahem.  As I was saying, although there was furious temptation, I made it out of Walmart without purchasing anything sweet or junky at all.  :)

Got home and all the kids wanted a snack.  I wanted a snack too, but I also wanted computer time.  Hey, whatever works!  I came to the computer for about 30 minutes and my stomach no longer was growling.  Weird.  So I made it through until time to cook supper, so then I just held out.

Tonight's meal was sooooo good.  If you have a Pampered Chef Deep Covered Baker, contact me by email or through comments and I will give you this recipe.  It is a pork tenderloin cooked in the MICROWAVE for 10 minutes!!!  Then you let it sit 10 more and it is amazing!  You rub some smokey bbq rub on it first.  Delish.  I don't know why I've not been making this the last couple years!  It's easy, every single one of us loved it, and it's low in points.

I had 6 oz (yes, a double serving) of the pork tenderloin, a small potato tossed in 1 tsp of olive oil, and broccoli topped with 14 grams of Italian cheese.
10 points+.

A couple hours later, I seriously sneaked off alone to my bedroom to enjoy dessert!  Sad but true happenings in parenthood.  Can I get a witness?  LOL

I packed tomorrow's lunches, washed dishes, got tomorrow's school lessons prepped and ready, and then I enjoyed an apple before blogging.

In a nutshell:  I'm the bomb, but I still was up to 217.5 this morning.  Wahhhhh.  How can I do SO GOOD some days and then throw myself until a moving truck?!?  But whatever.  It's a number and I really do just have to look at it in its perspective.  This is obviously going to be a slow going process for me, but at least slow is still going.  :)  Did great on water.  Still no exercise.  I actually set my alarm for 7:00 this morning and then put the stupid thing on "all sounds off" instead of "alarm only" by mistake.  Hubby woke me up around 7:30.  Oh well!  Everyone have a good night tonight/good day tomorrow.  My points restart tomorrow.  I actually only ate 32 points+ today, but I took a lick here and there while making lunches tonight so I figure we'll just call it even.  Ha!

  2. Instant oatmeal doesnt feel me up either. I think its the sugar in it, even the low sugar ones mess with my blood sugar. I cook regular oats on the stove-top..doesnt take longer than 8-10 minutes.

Yu are my hero for taking 4 kids to Walmart:)

  3. The secret to oatmeal keeping you full is to add an egg white at the end of cooking and stir, stir, stir. It becomes creamy and will make it seem like more! Why does it work because it's added protein :) Not sure about instant oats but it wouldn't hurt to try it. I do that every time I have oats.
I heard a recipe for oatmeal pancakes. Take a packet of instant oats and add 3 egg whites. They use that to make pancakes. Of course you could add in things like mashed banana or chocolate chips!

  5. Yahoo for the good day. Enjoy it. Try not to focus too much on the scale. (easier said than done, I know!) You are just doing sooooo much better now. Your good days out number the bad and the bad days don't stretch in to weeks. Keep it up. I know that your body will figure it out soon enough.
