I guess before I go making concrete plans, I would do good to check with the other adult who lives in the home who is half my brain! Lol Hubby reminded me that we have to travel on Saturday and that we will need to eat supper out. Other than that, all meals should go as planned, here at home, unless this one other thing comes up that would require traveling one evening. Being married to a preacher - never boring! Haha
So now I'm not sure what to say about this week's challenge. I will eat every meal at home except for the one or possibly two where it is unavoidable to eat out. Other than that, I think I will just spend this week getting reacquainted with water and healthier foods after having a really bad week and couple days!
I never can seem to get in bed at a decent hour. I need to get this under wraps. I finished catching up on traveling laundry last night, and then I packed our lunches, too. Hubby even helped, and I still didn't lay down until just a few minutes before 1:00 am.
When the alarm went off at 6:50 this morning, I did NOT want to get up! I'm so glad that I publicly promised to get up and walk this morning. Honestly, that is the ONLY thing that got me up... at 7:20. Lol I don't know why I bother to set alarms. :-/
So I started off my day with a 1-mile walk DVD.
Boy, could I ever tell how out of shape I was and how much weight I have gained. Eek! And how awful that a 1-mile, beginner walk has left me with rubbery thighs and horrible soreness!
I am going to do this walk again in the morning.
Breakfast was a bowl of oatmeal, 2 turkey sausage links, and a banana.

Then I remembered that oatmeal always leaves me feeling hungry. I decided to try the microwave egg that Lauryn told me about. You just spray a microwave safe bowl with cooking spray. Crack the egg in and scramble. Add salt and pepper. Microwave for 1 minute and the egg is done! Pretty nifty. She said it was like a fried egg. I was expecting it to be like a scrambled egg. It was different than both, in my opinion. It was really fluffy like. It comes out in a great circle and would be perfect on an English muffin or something. I have to say it was super fast and WAY easier than messing up a skillet and having to flip the egg or scramble and have gunk to clean out of my pan, etc. Thanks, Lauryn!

I did get hungry about an hour before lunch, but I just kept busy with teaching the kids their math and it was lunchtime soon enough. Today was 2 oz of turkey, a Laughing Cow Light wedge, bell pepper strips, 28 grams of Wheat Thins cracker chips, 2 Cuties, and a Fun Size M&M pack.

In the afternoon, I got pretty hungry. I started to reach for a protein bar of some sort. I dunno. I am just getting aggravated with myself for buying those things. Every time I get them, I get out of hand. I start relying on them every day. And then I start craving more and more of them. I am betting it's the sugar content in them. They're just so stinkin' convenient, and like it or not they fill me up way better than a piece of fruit. I love fruit, but fruit doesn't hold me over until supper!
But I stayed strong and thought for a few minutes. If I hadn't had the M&Ms, I probably would've had the chocolate protein bar. But since I had already had chocolate, I knew better than to cross that line. Instead, I settled on some canned peaches in 100% juice and 113 grams of 2% cottage cheese. I'm not really a cottage cheese fan, so this wasn't the easiest choice, but I can eat it.

I gave this to the kids, and all but one of them complained and griped and whined for like 30 minutes or so. Finally, I just threw it all away. They started asking for a different snack and I went all emotional on them. LOL I told them NO - that was your snack, stay hungry until supper! I hate it, but I have a hard time resisting Teddy Grahams and Goldfish and animal crackers when I hand them out for snacks. Plus, they really don't need all that sugar content. It's junk and not a snack. I need to just quit bringing those things into the house and help us ALL to learn to eat better. I was hoping they'd at least give the cottage cheese a try. :( Foolish of me, but I cut their peaches into chunks and stirred them into the cottage cheese. I was hoping that would make the cottage cheese more bearable - a little fruit in each bite. Instead, in their eyes it made the fruit less bearable and I was so aggravated to waste 3 bowls of cottage cheese and peaches. Argh! Ya win some, ya lose some. But they sure did eat up their supper. Hehe Anyway, I guess it was TOM making me a mean momma because I have issues with cottage cheese myself but can still eat it.
I felt sooooo hungry even after my snack. But how could I be hungry when I just ate? Cottage cheese even has a good protein count, and that's why I picked it! I think a lot of my "hunger" is mental. I held out until supper.
Supper was SO delicious tonight! I had Morey's Fish Creations tilapia, a baked potato topped with 14 grams of Smart Balance spread and a dollop of 0% Greek yogurt, an ear of corn that was super good, and some broccoli with 14 grams of 2% shredded Colby Jack cheese.

Later on, I popped some 94% FF kettle corn in a mini bag for a snack.
In a nutshell: I actually still have 2 points left tonight, but I'm through. If I ate anymore, it would just be to fulfill my points and not to satisfy hunger. I got my walk in this morning, and I drank 70 oz of water today. It's 10:51 pm and I'm going to try to go on to bed. I packed lunches tonight right after supper instead of putting the task off. Hubby washed all the dishes up for me while I did it. He is so helpful. I did take a silly pic of him tonight. I walked into the kitchen and he was cleaning up a crayon mark that was on the linoleum. I called him Cinderella and told him to just keep cleaning! Then he was sport enough to let me snap a pic with my cell and send it out as a joke to all my friends. :) He even made a laboring face upon my request to dramatize the slave situation. Haha.
Night everyone!

One of my favorite snacks is fat free plain greek yogurt with 1/2 a can of peaches mixed in, sprinle on some cinnamon and sometimes I add a little raisin bran cereal on top for crunch. So Yummy!

It sounds like you made a lot of good decisions today, even in less than ideal circumstances. You're doing great.

It took years to get my daughter to eat veggies. It was a slow and painful journey. But she's now a vegan/vegetarian chef :)
