Crazy Lady

I just should never pick up a book.... EVER.  I have discovered the Dear America series in the juvenile section at the library.  They are diaries written by young ladies and boys going through trying times in America's History, like settling in the west, immigrating from England to America, etc.  I can never put the books down, no matter what.  These aren't real diaries, they are fiction, but the authors do such a good job of making it real.  It's like you are reading a real person's thoughts and feelings and emotions and life.  There is always so much death and tragedy because there just really WAS back then.  I started the book at 10:00 pm and just ended it.... nearly 1:00 am!!!! I just had a good cry.  I will lay in bed for at least an hour going over all the characters and things that took place in their lives.  Ugh.  Any other book lovers like this out there?

So while I did take food pics, I just don't have time to share them.  My poor husband is asleep, sitting up, Bible in lap, mouth agape, on the couch!  My bed has homeschool items strewn all over it.  And yet I love you all so much that I took time to write this nonsense for you!  LOL

I am a sucker for a good book and am almost always disgusted by a movie remake of a good book.  I bawled and bawled when I read Where the Red Fern Grows.  Then I saw the movie.  Those dogs aren't the least bit like the cute, adorable, little puppies I had imagined in my mind!  LOL  I didn't even cry.

Okay, I'm weird.  And the fact that it's 1:00 am is making me weirder!  ;)

I don't think I'll be getting up early and walking in the morning . And I didn't pack lunches.... AGAIN.  I need to get my rear back in gear!
Good night!

  1. I don't read as often as I used to but when I do find a good read I also can't put it down. I have been known to cook and read at the same time. Now that I think about it, reading may help to keep my mind off food sometimes :-)

  2. I loved that series. My daughter read them a few years ago and I read them after she was done. I couldn't put them down either. And I agree with you, 9 times out of 10 the movie just isn't as good as the book!! Have a good day.

  4. I'm the same way! The only chance I really get to read is at night when my daughter is sleeping...thus I end up getting caught up in the book & can't put it down. I have finished many books in one night. I'm sick right now too. I've had this since Saturday & being able to breathe through my nose would be just awesome right about now LOL!

  5. I used to read a lot. In fact I could read through a book in just a few days! Now I'm lucky to finish a book before it's due back to the library. Social media is not always a good thing!
